The other day one of my clients upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007. Since then, whenever she went to her company’s SharePoint site, she received the following error:

Apparently the Outlook upgrade did something to a DLL (removed it?) that SharePoint needs.
If you have just upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 and you receive a similar error, simply run Office Diagnostics and it should fix the problem!
To run Office Diagnostics follow these steps:
1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007
2. On the Help menu, click Office Diagnostics
3. Click Continue, and then click Start Diagnostics
I had lots of bugs using share point, so no comment here…
This was the solution to my issue with that stupid error keeping me from working with my sharepoint site. I inherrited a laptop from someone and had no idea an “upgrade” was performed. Thanks for this–SUPER HELPFUL!!
Glad it helped you out!

It worked for me as well!!! – thanks!

Excellent – great post – worked perfectly!
Had this problem after upgrading to Office 2010.
- Go to “Programs and features”
- Right click Office, select “Change”
- Run the repair
This resolved it for me.
Thanks so much for the solution to my problem. Our IT Department has been unable to resolve, so I did my own investigation and found your solution. Thanks again!
Thanks so much for the solution to my problem. You can also use word 97, as the machine I was working was a server and it did have not have outlook. This is also worked for me.
Yep, this worked for me as well. I was troubleshooting in all the wrong places…..ie uninstall/reinstall, profiles etc….but this worked perfectly:)
Will pass it onto my team for future reference.
cheers
where’s programs and features? can’t find in outlook 2010…thanks!
